The project has developed two (2) new synthetic turf recreation fields on vacant land north of the existing women's soccer complex. The two fields are full size soccer fields and stripped to allow use by multiple sports. The fields include MUSCO sports lighting, security fencing, and adjacent to the fields, two small buildings were constructed. One is a 1,038 GSF facility providing for an office, restrooms, and sports equipment check-out for the fields. The other is a 585 GSF maintenance facility. Around these facilities the project provided additional sidewalks and created a landscaped pedestrian plaza for fan engagement. Due to the location, the site required extensive fill for the pads along with the installation of a major drainage channel to funnel storm water in the area away from the fields and to the playa lake north of the fields; thereby providing protection for the new synthetic turf fields. |
