×ÔοÊÓƵ System Regents to Meet October 8-9
Regents will have a two-day meeting on the Texas Tech University campus in Lubbock.

The ×ÔοÊÓƵ will meet Thursday and Friday (October 8-9) in Lubbock. The meeting will take place in the Ballroom (Room 118) in the Texas Tech University Student Union Building (15th Street and Akron Avenue).
Below are highlights of the topics and items to be discussed at the upcoming meeting, including estimated times with periodic recesses. Thursday, October 8
10:00 a.m. – Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the
10:20 a.m. – Call to Order; Meeting of the Board
10:20 a.m. – Facilities Committee
- Approve a project to construct a new Honors Residence Hall at Texas Tech University
10:45 a.m. – Finance and Administration Committee
- Report on computer and information technology security at the ×ÔοÊÓƵ System and its components
11:50 a.m. – Academic, Clinical and Student Affairs Committee
- Approve the division of the College of Arts & Sciences into the College of Science & Engineering and the College of Arts & Humanities at Angelo State University
- Approve the naming of the College of Health & Human Services and acceptance of a related gift at Angelo State University
- Approve the following degree programs at Texas Tech University and Texas Tech University
Health Sciences Center:
- Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences with a major in Restaurant, Hotel & Institutional Management in the College of Human Sciences
- Online Master of Science in Nutrition & Dietetics in the College of Human Sciences
- Electronic delivery of the existing Ph.D. in Special Education in the College of Education
- Electronic delivery of the existing Ph.D. in Family and Consumer Sciences Education in the College of Education
- Dual degree program, JD/MS in Biotechnology, between the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and the School of Law
- Online Master of Public Health
- Approve the establishment of the Transmountain Campus clinical departments of surgery, internal medicine, family medicine, pediatrics and obstetrics and gynecology at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso
- Approve campus policies regarding Sexual Assault at the ×ÔοÊÓƵ System and its components
1:10 p.m. – Audit Committee
- Report on enterprise risk management process at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center
2:00 p.m. – Executive Session
Following Executive Session, the Board will reconvene into open session and recess for the day no later than approximately 3 p.m.
