Midwestern State University Joins the ×ÔοÊÓÆµ
The ×ÔοÊÓÆµ welcomed Midwestern State University as its fifth and newest member institution on Wednesday, Sept. 1, as university presidents and system officials gathered for a ceremonial special-called Board of Regents meeting on the MSU Texas campus in Wichita Falls.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott appointed three new members to the ×ÔοÊÓÆµ Board of Regents for terms set to expire on Jan. 31, 2027. The new appointees are Arcilia Acosta (Dallas), Cody Campbell (Fort Worth) and Pat Gordon (El Paso).

On June 8, Gov. Greg Abbott signed HB 1522, officially designating Midwestern State University as a member institution of the ×ÔοÊÓÆµ, effective Sept. 1, 2021. The bill was authored by state Rep. James Frank and sponsored by state Sen. Drew Springer.

Robert Duncan, who served as the fourth chancellor of the ×ÔοÊÓÆµ, has been recognized with the honorary appointment and title of Chancellor Emeritus by Chancellor Tedd L. Mitchell, M.D., the ×ÔοÊÓÆµ System announced Monday, Nov. 22.
